Community Education Program Initiative

CEPI was founded in July 2015 as an expansion of the Fifth Dimension. At the time, our intention and goal was to develop and expand current parent initiatives that served families from the Whittier Boys and Girls Club and surrounding neighborhoods by promoting self-empowerment through various community education initiatives. Since then, it has grown into a program that provides learning opportunities to build community, as well as serving as a parent liaison for the Fifth Dimension.

The goals of CEPI are:

CEPI strives to encourage and empower our community to use their strengths and passions to create and share with others their voice and knowledge.  It is a community driven initiative that promotes a safe and inclusive platform for individuals to practice ownership and confidence when advocating for their families and communities. We strive to work together and nurture a group of parents and family members to take initiative to guide, design, and lead their own goals through community action and education.

  • To encourage and empower our community to use their strengths and passions to create and share with others their voice and knowledge.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, family members, and the community.

  • Develop a community of parents who have a greater sense of ownership and understanding of their children’s education, and who are confident in advocating for their families.

We are excited to see current projects expand and new ones be birthed all the while building relationships with parents and families to more holistically serve our youth.
